India's Own Howitzer: ATAGS. Developed by DRDO (Defence Research and Development Organization) with the help of few private giant organizations of India, ATAGS (Advanced Towed Artillery Gun System) is the first self-made howitzer by India to set world records. It is capable of burst firing 3 rounds in 15 seconds, intense firing of 15 rounds in 3 minutes and sustained firing of 60 rounds in 60 minutes. During trials in 2017, the projectile shell that came out of 155-millimeter artillery gun of ATAGS had to blast 48 km away which was a world record.
