Coconut & Lemon |
My nephew has a problem of sweating and body odor and hence he always spray a very strong deodorant. I observe that due to strong deodorant, the air in his room is always filled with the pungent scent. I also observed that due to such pungent aroma, he and my sister are more prone for coughing. Because of the concern for them, since long, I was in contemplation of inventing an idea of making homemade natural deodorant. The idea had come in mind a week ago, but somehow couldn't initiate writing for the same. A day before yesterday, my nephew wrote an article about sweating on his space on Quora and that happening insisted me on spilling out my accumulated idea.
There are basically four factors that play role in smelling from the sweat. One's geans, age, diet and hygiene. Genes and age are not in our control. But one can take “SAATWIK AAHAAR (righteous food)” in diet and can use natural fragrances as one of the parameters of a good hygiene. We can understand the difference between Saatwik Food and Tamsik Food by following two different images of Burger.

As far as righteous food is concerned, it doesn't mean that one is compromising with the test. Let us take an example of "sukha kala chana masala" (here, sukha means little dry, kala means black, chana means chickpeas, masala means species) or we can say "Wagharela Chana" in Gujarati. There isn't any translation of "Process of Waghar" in English. We can say that frying any food with a little bit of oil (about one spoon) is called "Waghar". So, according to me "Wagharela Chana (Desi Chickpeas gone through the process of Waghar)" is a righteous food and also very testy. But, if we use too much garlic, too much oil and too much species to prepare "Wagharela Chana" then that wouldn't be "Saatwik Aaahaar (righteous food)" and will be transformed into "Taamsik Aahaar".

Moreover, it is also important that, we should have our regular Gujarati thali in our lunch and dinner usually and should go for junk food occasionally. There are lot of righteous Gujarati/Indian snacks we can prepare and take in morning and evening.
Now, come to our main topic: Natural Deodorant
The preparation is very simple: One can use mixture of lemon juice and coconut oil as a natural deodorant. I would suggest the ratio of 4:1 (4 drops of lemon juice with 1 drop of coconut oil). So if you take 40 drops of lemon juice then take 10 drops of coconut oil. Mix it and apply as a deodorant. One can change the ratio according to his/her tendency and daily observation. I have applied this remedy on me for a month. It will neither spread the aroma of lemon and coconut nor you will feel sticky. It will just not let your body stink profusely for many hours. Get ready this mixture in advance before you take bath. After taking bath, let your body dry well and then apply this mixture as a deodorant. Wait for few minutes and put on your clothes. I h
